This can sometimes interfere with the alignment of teeth or constrict movement. A simple procedure called a Frenectomy can be performed.

Soft Tissue Pathology

If your dentist has referred you to Dr. Welch for soft tissue pathology, this means there is an alteration in the tissue inside your mouth. This can sometimes be a warning sign for oral cancer. Dr. Welch takes a sample of this tissue to determine if it’s serious or not.

Common signs that could mean a cancerous growth: 

• Difficulty swallowing or chewing
• A sore or lump on the skin lining the inside of the mouth
• Thickening of the tissue inside the mouth
• Red or white patches inside the mouth
